Reports of Board Members
I did not attend this session of the BOS as I was on am AmaWaterways Danube River cruise with my wife! We stopped at Budapest, Hungary, Salzburg and Vienna, Austria, Prague, Czech Republic and Nuremberg, Germany, among other smaller towns such as Budweis. The sign on the right was seen in Vienna (“Democracy must be renewed every day.”)…
What I noticed in practically ALL of these towns was the lack of potholes in the streets and the well-maintained street markings and crosswalks that provide information to drivers and pedestrians and that help guide traffic, indicate lane separation, and warn of potential hazards. Sadly, the street markings on major roads in Newtown Township are POORLY maintained and potholes are everywhere!
I also picked up two rubber ducks for my Jeep Wrangler. I decided against all the ones depicting kings, queens, and other historic royalties in favor of a Statue of Liberty duck! Which I was surprised to see in Europe. It reinforces my “Make America’s Constitution King” (aka M.A.C.K.) campaign. It’s shown below along with a Mozart duck on my Jeep dashboard:

Reports of Commissions
The Planning Commission (PC) report (find it in the 2025 BOS Chronicle) was submitted to the BOS but was not on the agenda. Usually, PC Chair Peggy Driscoll would make a report to the BOS in person and answer questions from the Supervisors. Instead, without consulting other supervisors, Ms. Snyder, the BOS Chairperson, informed Ms. Driscoll that her presence at BOS meetings was no longer required and merely read off the list of applicants and the recommendations from the PC.

Approval of Amended PBA Contract
LINK: https://rebrand.ly/NTPD_PBAagreement
From the transcript:
- Township Manager, Micah Lewis: “As you're aware the arbitrator issued his decision in the ruling as it relates to the police contract. The contract itself has been amended with the language of the arbitrator's ruling. The union has signed off on the language. Now it's up to the board to approve as well so we can get this contract executed.”
- Supervisor Calabro: “Just one question: Can you just go over the arbitrator's decision?”
- Mr. Lewis: “I don't have that decision in front of me at this time. It included increases… It's a six-year term to run through 2029 and it'll include certain fringe benefits that the union was asking for, including things like accreditation pay and certain other allowances. The PBA wanted additional health care coverages that weren't granted to the officers for post-retirement benefits. They wanted certain other pay increases that were not granted.”
