19 July 2022 Planning Commission Meeting Summary
This is my personal summary of the July 19, 2022, meeting of the Newtown Township Planning Commission (NTPC). This is not a complete nor an official summary.
Mediplex Property Group, 101 Pheasant Run (Rothman’s Relocation)
The applicant is seeking relief in connection to their proposal to renovate and retrofit an existing I-story 12,839sq.ft. office building on a 2.083 acre comer property for the relocation of Rothman Orthopaedics, D-2 medical use, where such use will require relief from the parking space standards, in accordance with the Newtown Township Joint Municipal Zoning Ordinance of 2007, as amended.
The PC agreed to advise the Board of Supervisors to not appose this plan when it comes before the Zoning Hearing Board (date to be determined).
Piccolo Trattoria, 32/34 West Road
Conditional Use Approval for a proposed E-5 and E-6 (Eating Place and Eating Place - Drive-In Restaurant). The uses are permitted as conditional uses as part of a Shopping Center Use (E-15) in the PC - Planned Commercial Zoning District. The property is located at 32-34 West Road in the Newtown Shopping Center. The restaurant proposes to expand its existing use by 2,000 s.f. into the previous Cats & Dogs Rule retail store (30 West Road) and to provide a 2,212-s.f. covered, outdoor dining area. The existing restaurant occupies approximately 4,146 square feet.
For more background, read “Piccolo Trattoria Plans Expansion With Outdoor Seating.”
Although some members were concerned about parking, the PC agreed that it will advise the NT Board of Supervisors to approve this conditional use application
