Summary of the 4 June 2024 Planning Commission Meeting
This is my personal summary of the 19 March 2024 Newtown Township Planning Commission Meeting. This is NOT a complete nor is it an official summary.
Corners at Newtown
BET investments presented a modified plan for its Corners at Newtown project. BET wishes to amend the JMZO to allow for a new B-11 use; i.e., a Parking Core Apartment Building. This is a building where individual apartments surround a central parking garage to feature a “walkable oriented streetscape in keeping with a traditional village.”
This presentation focuses on Q&A regarding BET’s Traffic Impact Study and why there needs to be an amendment to the JMZO for this new use rather than applying for variances to an R-2 (Medium Density Apartment) use, which is already allowed. Listen to the discussion:

This Conditional Use application was presented to the Newtown Township Planning Commission on June 4, 2024. The Commission members voted unanimously to recommend that the Board of Supervisors approve this application. Listen to the discussion:
