The Future of Fire Services in Newtown

Newtown Township Board of Supervisors Meeting, January 23, 2019

In February, 2018, Harry R. Carter. Ph.D., L.L.C., a municipal fire protection firm headquartered in New Jersey, was approved by the Newtown Board of Supervisors (BOS Definition) to undertake an organizational, effectiveness and overall efficiency study on staffing levels, facilities, apparatus needs, equipment, administration, financials pertaining to Newtown's Emergency Services Department and the Newtown Fire Association. The resulting "2018 Fire and EMS Study" made several sweeping recommendations to reorganize Newtown's paid and volunteer fire services. View a list of these recommendations here.
