Planning Commission Chair Allen Fidler Speaks on Zoning Restrictions for Medical Marijuana Dispensaries
Newtown Township Board of Supervisors Meeting, April 11, 2018
Allen Fidler, Chair of Newtown Township's Planning Commission, summarizes the Commission's preliminary questions regarding the proposed amendment to the Joint Municipal Zoning Ordinance (JMZO) for new Medical Marijuana uses. Specifically, the Commission wanted to know what is defined as a “school” in the law. Fidler noted that Jerry Schenkman of the Law Offices of Sean Kilkenny, advised the Commission that the state law does not define “school.” Listen to his comments in this video clip:
What's Your Opinion?
Do you believe Medical Marijuana (MMJ) can have a role in preventing the over prescription of opioid painkillers and thus help fight opioid addiction? Do you agree that MMJ dispensaries must not be located within 1,000 feet of a public, private or parochial school or a day-care center?
